Graduation Reflection Video Production Project
Objective: To organize, shoot and edit a short (3-5 minute) video on reflecting upon graduating from École Van Wallegham School.
The video should:
- reflect upon graduating which could take the form of re-enactments, image montage, drama, documentary, etc.
- be able to be done in school with minimal disruption- consist of at least four scenes
- be able to include everyone in the group including opportunities for each member to direct and use camera.
- each group must record at least one person “talent”.
- be in keeping with school guidelines and values i.e. language, violence
In groups of four get started by considering:
- what is the main idea of your reflection video?
- how are you going to get the viewer to clearly understand your main idea? i.e. visuals, words/dialogue, and audio.
Creating your treatment:
1) As a group brainstorm and decide on an idea
2) Complete the Reflection Video Student OUTLINE sheet keeping in mind each group member must have a chance to be the cameraperson and director.
3) Each member will be responsible for creating a scene and recording it on a storyboard sheet.
Consider the following as a group:
a) does our video have a beginning, middle, and end?
b) does it use descriptive and easily understood words/dialogue?
d) does your storyboards accounted for each scene and critical point?
e) what is the objective for each scene?
f) how is the scene going to accomplish each objective (visually, verbally, or a combination)?
